Italic
With great support of Bruce Kennett and others, I was able to get my hands on original drawings of an unfinished typeface by W. A. Dwiggins for Linotype in 1947. I wanted to keep a warm and organic quality within my interpretation for a lively texture, in true with Dwiggins’ intent and style. For the Italics I went back even further in time, to one of the best punchcutters to ever do it: Robert Granjon and his «Gros Romain» from ~1550. This project is in a very early stage and a display version with a modern twist will soon be the counterpart to this classic, soft text-face.
